Mile Building Passages around the British Coastline

In April, May and June we will be sailing a boat around Britain. There are 5 legs available for those keen to build miles and enjoy some great sailing experiences. Each leg has been allocated 6 days and the distances of each leg vary, the shortest being 175nm and the longest being around 390nm.

Starting in Southampton we will head east to Ipswich, then up the North Sea to Edinburgh. The next passage is from Edinburgh to Inverness. After that there will be one big leg from Largs on the West Coast of Scotland to Falmouth in Cornwall, then finally Falmouth along the South Coast back to the Solent.

The yacht for this trip is a Barberis Show 42. An elegant but determined cruiser-racer that manages to be seaworthy comfy and quick – an excellent choice for this venture.

Is this the right passage for you?

There will likely be a fair amount of night sailing on each trip so you need to be able to stand a watch at night. Although, of course, the skipper (an RYA Yachtmaster Instructor) will always be on hand.

These trips are tailored for Coastal Skippers or above and those wanting to build tidal miles for Yachtmaster Coastal or Yachtmaster Offshore. We would consider Day Skippers with suitable experience, feel free to have a chat with us – contact us.

Each passage has been given six days and each pick-up and dropoff point has been carefully worked out for you, including directions for public transport to make getting to the boat and home again nice and easy.
