3,221 views | September 2nd, 2016Nothing can beat the excitement of yacht racing with the wind in your hair and the spray on your face. It’s your turn to be a part of it with First Class Sailing. It is time you experienced the adrenalin rush of competing, combined with the achievement of working as a team in such a fast paced environment.
Yacht racing is a fantastic sport and a great way of putting your skills to the test. Here at First Class Sailing we take part in three superb yacht races and you can be a part of the crew too no matter what level of sailing experience you have.
Round the Island Race
The Round the Island Race happens every June or July with over 16,000 sailors taking part. What make this race so great is that there’s Olympic medalists to amateur crews so really anyone can participate.
This unique yacht race takes you around the Isle of Wight and is the largest in the world meaning it’s one not to miss, even as a spectator. First Class Sailing put on a training day before the race so anybody taking part is well prepared.
Fastnet Race
The Rolex Fastnet Race is all set for 2017 so there’s plenty of time to join the special team to take on the helm of a 72ft world racing yacht.
After an initial training weekend where you can bond with your new crew mates, there’s the offshore safety course, 3 qualifying races and then the ultimate Fastnet Race. Join one of the most famous offshore yacht races in the world.
ARC Rally
For an international racing experience, the ARC Rally heads from the Canaries to the Caribbean, sailing across the Atlantic for a once in a lifetime opportunity.
Head out to Gran Canaria for a few days of preparation before the race kicks off in its first leg to St Lucia. With racing experience not essential a little bit of sailing experience would be beneficial with at least 14 days straight at sea.
