Sailing World Descends on Cascais

The latest blog from Challenger 2 could easily fit on the back of a postcard but as you will see they have been having a great time ashore at Cassias, Portugal. The picture above is the first we’ve seen with the new sails. Dazzling!

Day 6 – 7

We have had a couple of nice days off in Cascais , train rides to Lisbon kept many crew members busy, the Volvo Ocean race fleet was in harbour there so many photos were taken. (Here is some of the action from Lisbon.)

We also bumped in to Alex Thomson from Hugo Boss. He kindly allowed us to look round his boat that was moored up just in from of us. (no pictures yet)

The rest of the time was taken up on hire bikes or exploring the old town of Cascais with its many bars and restaurants. Nice to now be back at sea and a beat towards Lanzarote for our next stopover

Regards
Neil, Skipper, Challenger 2

UPDATE: They have now departed for 600 mile sail to Lanzarotte. Crew all happy and looking looking forward to some fast upwind sailing

Get Your Own Atlantic Adventure

Ocean sailing is what all sailors are hankering after and if you haven’t yet tried it then these Atlantic Adventures have something for every level of sailor.
The second leg is of this trilogy is the ARC Rally 2017 and all berths are taken, however there is still space on the return leg from Antigua to Portsmouth, starting January 4th and last about 30 days.

Quite a voyage and definitely one for the bucket list. You can find our more details here:  Antigua to Portsmouth Adventure
