After 6 full days on board the FCS Crew on board Challenger 2 site land and take stock of their food. Fingers crossed the riggers work and the customs in/out procedure will all go smoothly so Challenger 2 can quickly get on her way west, towards the setting sun and the Caribbean! Chris and Alan report. More photos to follow.

Land Ahoy!
After an eternity of diesel power we are at last approaching Cape Verde islands. Current position is East of Santo Antao approximately 2 hours from Sao Vincente where the rigging will be inspected and the damaged stay replaced.
We are looking forward to a quick turnaround, hopefully fitting in some shore time to buy essentials and fresh provisions. Diesel must also be taken on board. Additionally an inventory (food) will be made before departure.
Hopefully not enough time to get the land legs back!
Departure time will be dependent on customs formalities, the target is Sunday evening or latest Monday morning.
The diversion to Cape Verde has been good for getting to know one another, we are now eager to set sail and make the crossing without motor power, fair winds permitting. The sound of winches, trimmed sails and the sea will be welcomed after such a long motor passage.
