The ARC Rally

The 2016 ARC Rally, a hugely social yet really quite competitive sailing race, is fast approaching with the training weekend kicking off on the 5th November. This year we’re entering, giving 12 people the opportunity to crew in this renowned race (we’ve got one place remaining if you are interested!).

ARC Rally Crew

Established in 1986 as a route for a safer Atlantic crossing, the ARC Rally has grown into a recognised and respected race. Every year it becomes more and more competitive, with much bigger and faster yachts drawn into taking part.

We’ll be completing the race aboard a Challenger 72 – a 72 foot long tried and tested yacht which is ideal for sailing around the world. So much so, that she has already been around the world twice already.

Once in a Lifetime Experience

Crew members and other entrants will get the chance to race across the Atlantic Sea, all the way from Las Palmas in Gran Canaria to St Lucia in the Caribbean. Although claimed to be a physically demanding and exhilarating pursuit, sailing across the Atlantic is without a doubt an unforgettable experience.

Not for the faint hearted, the trip involves around 14 days at sea. While you don’t need to have experience in racing to join the crew, you must be reasonably fit and healthy and prepared to get hands on and stuck in.

Previous ARC Rally events have been packed with memories for all involved – from days of fantastic spinnaker flying downwind sailing through to 3am bake offs and birthday parties and unexpected visits from schools of dolphins.
