Day theory courses

Our RYA day skipper online course offers shore-based training that is perfect for a range of people who have limited, or no, navigational experience or expertise, regardless as to their sailing history.

The course features an abundance of navigational learning and covers such things as the use of electronic charts and GPS. Other areas covered include collision regulations, meteorology, and safety procedures.

Courses can take place at times and locations to meet your needs. This could be one evening a week and a weekend in the classroom over a seven-week period, or two-and-a-half weekends of classroom-based study.

Another option is a course that involves five evenings of classroom learning; one evening every two weeks, complimented by RYA-approved online learning at home.

The day skipper theory course can be followed up by the day skipper practical course. The completion of the latter will mean that you are qualified to charter and then skipper a yacht.

For those with limited sailing experience, there is also the option to complete practical competent crew training before taking on the day skipper practical course.

In-House Training

Our in-house navigation course can be a supremely practical and convenient option, especially if you have a busy

You also have the freedom to set your own dates and times, ensuring that becoming an expert sailor and day skipper is as easy as possible, regardless as to your other commitments or working schedule.

In-house training can also be an extremely cost-effective way in which to learn as we offer discounts and even free places, depending on the details of the course.

We have worked with clients in locations around London, including Victoria, Waterloo, Knightsbridge, Liverpool Street, Moorgate, Canary Wharf and Fleet Street, as well as in a variety of east coast locations.
