According to a recent article in the New York Post, plans have been developed to create the world’s tallest yacht. The brainchild of Italian designer Gabriele Teruzzi, the yacht will cost an estimated $250 million to create and would feature whopping dimensions of 492 feet in length and a height of 125 feet.

Teruzzi’s designs would result in a yacht with the equivalent dimensions of a skyscraper laid on its side, with a height matching a 12-storey building. He has named his yacht ‘Shaddai’, which translates as ‘Omnipotent’. Indeed, any passenger venturing up to the highest point of this vessel would imagine that the sea and sky had converged, giving an impression of being on top of the world.

Teruzzi has described his motivation for his design, stating that he wanted to create a yacht of such majestic proportions that the owner would feel themselves ‘at the point of extreme power’. The plans include an infinity pool merging into the view of the ocean, promoting this impression of omnipotence.

The Ultimate in Yachting Luxury

While it’s beyond the wildest dreams of most people learning to sail a yacht or completing learn to sail courses, a billionaire fancying an extreme vessel could do worse than commission Teruzzi’s extravagant design. The yacht has a 3,200 square foot beach club on board, featuring a gigantic aquarium to further blur the boundaries between man and ocean. Add in the towering deck, luxury décor that is inspired by Italian fashion houses and your own private waterfall, and it’s easy to imagine how this supremely luxurious construction would appeal to someone with the finances to see it made.

Shaddai features panoramic views throughout, providing a luxurious and contemporary design with a streamlined shape to further reduce the division between yachtsman and water. The futuristic shape brings to mind some form of alien aircraft. Relying heavily on glass features, the concept would offer unparalleled light and luxury. The glass elevator allows 260-degree panoramic views for those passengers disinclined to take the hike all the way up to the top viewing deck on foot.

A Small Price to Pay for Oceanic Omnipotence?

Even someone who had not yet taken their yachtmaster theory course would probably be tempted to get qualified just to hold on to the dream of owning this amazing vessel. And for those billionaires who have taken the yachtmaster theory course and fancy standing at the helm of a new concept in yacht luxury, it seems that Teruzzi has conceptualised the most opulent, luxurious and record-breaking design to date.

For anyone with millions to spare, the mega-yacht could offer the ideal retreat from the busy stresses of managing their fortune – if they didn’t feel inclined to share the magnificent space with high-profile guests to offer the ultimate in off-shore entertaining.
