First Class Sailing has some exciting news for 2014 – new boats!

We’ve been lucky enough to be able to order two Jeanneau 379 yachts, which will be arriving in January and will be put to work as new teaching platforms for our customers.
This video should whet your appetite…
More Room for Learning
Our new Jeanneau 379 boats are a lot more roomy inside than our current boats, with more space in the saloon, cockpit and cabins. This extra size provides an even better space for teaching sailing courses than our current boats provide.
The yachts are closer in size to the kind of boats you’ll be able to charter after you’ve completed your training at First Class Sailing, so you’ll feel even more at home on a chartered yacht. There’s also onboard heating to keep the interior nice and cozy for longer sailing trips.
Navigation and Steering is twice as good
The new boats feature two wheels (instead of the one which our current boats have). This means everyone can get a clear view of the radar and chart plotter – not just the person steering the boat! The chartplotter itself is also linked up to the Automatic Identification System, allowing us to detect other boats and avoid collisions easily.
We’re really excited about the new boats and looking forward to giving you the chance to take part in the naming ceremony and first voyage. We’ll be providing more information on how to enter in due course.

Very well organised with a top quality instructor who provided tuition tailored to our differing needs.
A fantastic option for a couple wanting an entire boat to do a mixed Competent Crew / Day Skipper itinerary.

A consistently great experience - Over the last few years First Class Sailing have taken me all the way from complete novice to Coastal Skipper, with theory and other courses along the way (like VHF,... read more First Aid, etc), and there's now no other school I'd want to train and study with. They really stand out from other providers with the quality of their instructors and the support and responsiveness you get from the office team. There's never too many students on a course, so you get lots of time to practise and learn from the instructor. By the end of each course you really feel you've been stretched and graduated to a much higher level of skill. A really high quality outfit and thoroughly recommended!

Yachmaster Ocean Theory - I just finished another training week at First Class Sailing’s training center. The week was dedicated to Yachtmaster Ocean Theory, with a highlight on Celestial Navigation. The instructor, Nigel Rennie... read more FRIN (Fellow of the Royal Institute of Navigation), was fantastic. It was very fast-paced, but covered the basics and theory behind Celestial Navigation. The jewel of the week was Rennie. His abundant patience, coupled with his experiences and passion for the art, made the week incredible. First Class Sailing have the best instructors. They know their craft and have real-life experience to make training both fun and memorable. Well Done!
