Bonjour!! Ola !! Ciao !! Heg !! Hi grounders!
It’s actually the first time I’m writing on this blog and what I can first say it’s that for sure we are part of what we can call an adventure.
It’s now the 13th day we left and we are now sailing so far! After all I think that people on board are so happy to be here at one point that flying fishes comes every 10 minutes to say HI!!! We spread the love and they give it us back! But I’m still waiting for the dolphin by the way …
We eat a lot of very good food so ladies who expected to find their gentles with less weigh, give up the idea!! Actually for lunch Steve cooked SO GOOD pasta with the Dorado he fished and delicious béchamel and without forgetting the exceptional garlic bread and butter …
The weather is absolutely perfect. Sun during the day and cooler during the night witch is perfect and funny cause some people turns red (I’m part of those).
We are now less people on the boat and I can say that it’s a little bit more comfortable and there’s more proximity with everybody, the group effect disappeared and it’s when very interesting discussions shows up … We talk about life, love, food, politics, experiences, sailing, feelings, emotions… We are all different and it make us stronger, richer not with the money but by the knowledge, more powerful for the rest of our life!
I love life in general, playing guitar, sharing my emotions and I’m very happy to be part of this adventure, and especially with my sista for this trip, Laetitia.
I ret a poem earlier in the trip for my love and I would like to share it with you grounders. It’s a French one cause I’m French so I hope you’ll enjoy it.
J’aime observer l’amour
J’aime aussi le cotoyer
J’aime l’idee d’etre libre
Mais j’aime le pouvoir de s’engager
A travers l’ocean je m’en vais
Et c’est par le vent que je t’aimerais
Mais sois en sur qu’a mon retour
C’est par mes actes aue je te prouverai
J’aime observer l’amour
Et j’aime le cotoyer
J’aime l’idee d’etre libre
Mais tu es la seule qui me fasse voyager.
Peace, love, rock n’roll, and don’t forget enjoying life every moment, it’s a gift.
Ps: Mom I love you and lottie too and Cloe too and mamie too and lolo too and Pap too and jor too and jo’ too and kuk’ too and adelie too marionette too and (the list is long so…) families and friend, thanks for your support !
Stay Wild.
Alex.
Skipper Ricky’s daily update
Fishing : Suspended while we consume existing fish stocks
Music: Angry Rap from Joe, Repetitive exercise music from Ivana, peaceful hum of Generator
Notes and comments :
Spinnaker decided it was time to come down for the night by blowing it’s spectra loop. Drop was clean though and after much sweating from the crew, is now wooled and back in its bag. Polled out Yankee 1 and various other sail accompaniments now adorn the rig. The Rig is still standing and remarkably rigid and upright.
Comms was established with Challenger 1 via the SSB and we shared our solution of the poo bad dilemma – stapled together pages of the 2017 Reeds Almanac make a useable poo bag and give you some light reading material in the heads as a bonus, the tidal curve of Dover is a particular favourite.
We have now done more miles than we have miles to go. Normally this would signal a halfway party, but we have Steve’s Birthday Bash tomorrow, so the halfway party has been pushed forward until we have less than 1300nm to go, being half of the original distance to go of 2600. Looks like all told we will have travelled over 1000nm extra on this crossing.
