This two day marine electrical training course is ideal for skippers, boat owners, aspiring boat owners and anyone wanting to better understand boat electrics and systems. There is no previous yacht electrics experience needed to take the course.

Hands On

There is a massive 'hands on' practical element to the course and great diagnostics. It has really helped me with my own boat electrics which I am now rewiring. First Class Sailing is a school where you come away with a lot more than a certificate.

This two day Yacht Electrical and Systems Course is designed to help you understand marine electrics and the electrical systems you might find on board a yacht.

The boat electrics course is suitable for skippers and aspiring skippers, sailing boat owners, power boat owners, narrow boat owners and anyone just wanting to learn more about electrics and boat systems.

The course is held in our classrooms in Shamrock Quay, Southampton. It is a hands on practical marine electrical course. You will be using multimeters, soldering irons, electrical boards and maybe an engine.

Whilst we will may be looking at a diesel engine this is not a course in how a diesel engines work. That is covered in the Diesel Engine Course.

Confident and knowledgeable instructor

Confident and knowledgeable instructor who explained the theory very well but the impressive part was the hands on practical experience. Didn't make me a Yacht electrician but I know how to find electric and network faults. All in all, a weekend well spent.

Sea Survival Course

'This is a one day course held in a classroom and a swimming pool. You will learn about and handle safety equipment. You will learn how to use it in an emergency. An important part of the course is a practical session in a swimming pool where you get to experience first hand the problems of entering an uncooperative liferaft and assisting others whilst fully clothed and with a lifejacket on. Courses are held in London and Southampton.'
