During the Covid 19 pandemic we are offering an INSTRUCTOR LED ONLINE Coastal Skipper/Yachtmaster theory course on Zoom.
The RYA Online Yachtmaster Theory Course is the next step for those looking to progress from Day Skipper qualification. It explores many of the same topics, but in more depth, with a greater emphasis on tackling more challenging coastal & offshore passages.
The course is split up into modules, allowing you to learn independently at your own pace. As well as PC and Mac compatibility, you can also follow the course on your iPad.
You will be provided with a comprehensive set of materials to complement the course content, and you there will always be an instructor a phone call/skype call/email away to offer help whenever you need some extra guidance.
After you've completed the Yachtmaster Theory course, you'll have all the background knowledge you'll need to undertake coastal and offshore passages, by day and night. You'll also be well prepared to take the RYA Coastal Skipper practical course.
If you have a lot of sailing miles under your belt, you can skip the Coastal Skipper practical and go straight to one of the more advanced Yachtmaster practical courses; the coveted Yachtmaster Certificate of Competence is awarded to those who complete one of these offshore Yachtmaster courses.

"The Instructor was an excellent coach and really took the time with our class to ensure we all understood all aspects of the course. He was patient and prepared to take the time to ensure we all had the best knowledge transferred to us. He was an excellent instructor and had a significant amount of detailed knowledge that was most helpful to me and the rest of the class. He is passionate and fully committed to his work and goes above and beyond to ensure you are capable and have a really enjoyable experience learning with him. First Class Sailing are well organised and the logistics, course material and facilities were all top notch."
David, Director"Excellent instructor - gave freely of his experience - very dedicated and enormously helpful."
Colin McKnight"Professional and effective. Good equipment, taught by knowledgeable and enthusiastic professionals."
Ron G"Just passed my Competent Crew with Paul - excellent instruction, made wonderfully fun with his top humour. What a great way to learn to sail - a different marina every night, comfortable berths on board a brand new boat, and tremendous company to boot. Even me losing a treasured hat to the wind triggered a full (& successful) 'man overboard' drill - priceless. I would definitely recommend - I'm certainly looking forward to returning for my 'Day Skipper'."
