Sail from Antigua across the Atlantic Ocean to Portsmouth

The Trip
At the moment we are not planning to do this trip as we wait to see what happens with Covid. Do get in touch if you are interested.
This is a 35 night trip and includes a training weekend in the UK. You will want to know that you like sailing before doing this trip. It is full on Ocean Sailing and will be a challenge at times. It will be much tougher than the east-west crossing of the ARC mainly due to the weather systems you may encounter and the temperature getting cooler rather than warmer. However it will be a lot of fun and very rewarding!

Joining the yacht in Antigua on 4th January you will head north to get away from the easterly trade winds and into the more favourable westerlies. Whilst not guaranteed it is possible you will have a brief stop in the Azores. You will likely be pushed on this trip but the sense of satisfaction when you get to the UK will be huge!
You can expect to get around 3500+ miles in your log book.

The Boat
The Yacht was built to sail around the world. A feat it has achieved twice in the BT Global Yacht Race. She is a very safe and solid yacht, spacious and comfy and well suited to sailing in the Atlantic. She meets all MCA (Maritime and Coastguard Agency) safety Coding requirements.
There will be a professional skipper and mate aboard who will ensure your safety and will give as much instruction as needed so that you the crew all come together to sail the boat as a team. You will take an active role in helping sail and run the boat.
The accommodation is arranged towards the stern of the boat in areas of 2 and 5 comfy bunks. There is good refrigeration on board and a water maker so plenty of showers will be available.
Dates
December - Training Weekend out of Gunwharf Quays in Portsmouth.
4th January - Join the yacht in Antigua. 8th February - Depart the Yacht in Gunwharf Quays.
Price
The price is £2600. Included within the price is all food on board, mooring fees, custom entry fees and insurance. In short the price includes everything except food and drink ashore.
