You can be part of the fun, excitement and magnificent spectacle that is the Round the Island Race. Crew spaces are available on our yachts in July 2023
In July 2023 over 16,000 sailors, from Olympic gold medallists and world champions to amateur crews and those trying their hand at racing for the first time, compete in this unique yacht race around the Isle of Wight. It is a race for all.
The largest yacht race in the world, the Round the Island Race is a magnificent spectacle and one that you will never forget!
You can be part of the action. No experience is necessary as full training will be given.
There will be a training day on 30th June. The Race is on the Saturday 1st July. Saturday night will be spent in joining in the post-race festivities in Cowes and then Sunday allows for a leisurely sail back to Southampton.
The yacht is a Farr 40 - a real racing machine.
The yacht is a Farr 40. She is 40ft long and is lighting weighing just 5 tonnes. She has an extensive number of sails. She is called Espresso Martini Too.
The yacht is very hands on. Team work will be key.
Espresso Martini Too is an exciting boat to sail. She is fast and competitive, performing really well throughout the wind range and providing a great sailing platform from which to optimise the performance for all angles of sail.
The boat is light and so you will need to spend time sitting on the rail balancing the boat.
Accommodation below is quite basic and we advise booking accommodation in Cowes for the Friday and Saturday nights.
Friday 30th June - Training Day
Saturday 1st July - Race Day:
Sunday 2nd July - return to Shamrock Quay

On board storage on the boat is pretty minimal. You should put your kit it in a soft bag [not hard suitcase].
