You can be part of the fun, excitement and magnificent spectacle that is the Round the Island Race. Crew spaces are available on our yachts in June 2022.
In June 2022 over 16,000 sailors, from Olympic gold medallists and world champions to amateur crews and those trying their hand at racing for the first time, compete in this unique yacht race around the Isle of Wight. It is a race for all.
The largest yacht race in the world, the Round the Island Race is a magnificent spectacle and one that you will never forget!
You can be part of the action. No experience is necessary as full training will be given.
The Race is on the Saturday 25th June. There will be a training day on the Friday 24th and a leisurely sail back to base on the Sunday. Saturday night will be spent in joining in the post-race festivities in Cowes and then Sunday allows for a leisurely sail back to Southampton.
The yacht is a Laurent Giles 44.
This boat is quite racey and she has done well in previous Round the Island Races and Fastnet Races.
The boat is very hands on. She has a big rig and plenty of teamwork is needed. There will be a skipper, mate and watch leader.
Down below is quite open plan. The accommodation is arranged into areas of bunks.

On board the boat you will be assigned your berth. Berths are located in the saloon and to the aft of the boat. You will share with other crew members.
