VHF Radio Course

The VHF Radio Course is a one day course teaching you how to use a VHF radio.

 

The VHF Radio Course is usually held in London. If there is demand it can be held in your office.

 

The course starts at 9.30am and ends at 5.30pm.

 

The cost is £95 plus a £30 license fee.

 

 

Marine VHF radio usage has changed in the last 10 years and really everyone who goes to sea should be capable of operating a VHF radio effectively. It is also a legal requirement that to use a VHF set you must hold or be under the supervision of someone holding a VHF licence.

 

The certificate that you will be awarded upon successfully passing the course is the Short Range Certificate, SRC, or short range radio license. The VHF Radio course covers all aspects of using a VHF radio correctly including the new generation of radios fitted with Digital Selective Calling, DSC, for use within the Global Maritime Distress and Safety System.
