Competent Crew Practical Course

The RYA Competent Crew course is an excellent introduction for beginners. It is the perfect starting point if you have done little or no sailing before, or have spent a week or two sailing with friends in the UK or abroad.

The Competent Crew course is 5 days long and can be taken over 5 consecutive days or over 2 consecutive weekends (a short and a long). Accommodation and food are on board.

Although we strongly recommend a Monday to Friday or 2 consecutive weekend course for continuity of instruction, we do recognise that it is not possible for everyone. If you click here you can view another option.

You can come and do the course by yourself or with friends. If your friends/partner wants to do the Day Skipper course or the Coastal Skipper course or Yachtmaster Coastal or Yachtmaster Offshore prep course they can do it at the same time you do your Competent Crew and on the same boat as yourself.
