This is challenging ocean sailing.
This is a 35 night trip and includes a training weekend in the UK. You will want to know that you like sailing before doing this trip. It is full on Ocean Sailing and will be a challenge at times. It will be much tougher than the east-west crossing of the ARC mainly due to the weather systems you may encounter and the temperature getting cooler rather than warmer. However it will be a lot of fun and very rewarding!
Joining the yacht in Antigua on 4th January 2019 you will head north to get away from the easterly trade winds and into the more favourable westerlies. Whilst not guaranteed it is possible you will have a brief stop in the Azores. You will likely be pushed on this trip but the sense of satisfaction when you get to the UK will be huge!
You can expect to get around 3500+ miles in your log book.
To get a good idea of what the trip might be like have a look at these blogs from the crossing we did in Jan/Feb 2018
