You can be part of the fun, excitement and magnificent spectacle that is the Round the Island Race. Crew spaces are available on our yachts in September 2020 (25/26/27).
Every year usually in June, but in September this year - being a somewhat unusual year over 16,000 sailors, from Olympic gold medallists and world champions to amateur crews and those trying their hand at racing for the first time, compete in this unique yacht race around the Isle of Wight.
The largest yacht race in the world, the Round the Island Race is a magnificent spectacle and one that you will never forget!
You can be part of the action. No experience is necessary as full training will be given.
First Class Sailing is entering a Laurent Giles 44 in the 2020 Race. Join us on 25/26/27 September. Starting from Southampton, there will be a training day on the Friday followed by the race on the Saturday.
Saturday night will be spent joining in the post-race festivities in Cowes and then Sunday allows for a leisurely sail back to Southampton.
Places are available on our yacht at £640. We include race entry fees, food on board, accommodation on board on Friday and Saturday nights, personal insurance, loan of waterproofs, safety equipment, mooring fees, fuel and gas. Supper on the Friday and Saturday night is not included leaving you to explore the options ashore.
Sunday 27th September:
You want to keep it pretty minimal. You should put it in a soft bag [not hard suitcase].
On board the boat you will be assigned your berth. Berths are located in the saloon and to the aft of the boat. You will share with other crew members.
