Learning to Sail in London is easier than you might expect. First Class Sailing hold a number of RYAshorebased navigation and one day supplementary courses throughout the year in central London locations. If you wish to learn to sail in London it is quite convenient and accessible – certainly the shorebased side of things is. A good starting point is the RYA Day Skipper theory. In London we hold these courses over 7 weeks (1 evening a week) and a weekend.
The lack of a decent sized patch of water obviously makes the practical on the water stuff a bit difficult to do in London.
However we have two yachts based in Shamrock Quay in the Solent on the South Coast on which you can take practical RYA Courses.

An RYA Day Skipper theory course in London typically takes place over 7 weeks (1 evening a week) and a weekend. We also run them over 2 and ½ weekends.
An RYA Coastal Skipper Yachtmaster or Ocean Yachtmaster course in London is usually held over 8 weeks (1 evening a week) and a weekend. They are also held over 3 weekends.
All the other courses listed above take place over 1 day, usually a Saturday or Sunday.
