The Project is funded by the 1851 Trust, Travis Perkins and the Andrew Simpson Sailing Foundation. It offers learn to sail courses as part of its target to get one thousand young people out on to the waters of the Solent, offering a fantastic opportunity for any young people who have always dreamed of learning to sail.<\/p>\n

But sailing isn\u2019t just for young people – it can be a rewarding activity at any age. The average age of people on First Class Sailing\u2019s entry-level learn to sail courses is 25-45 with a range of abilities. So whether you aspire to owning your own boat one day or simply want to get a taste of what it\u2019s like to be Sir Ben Ainslie, there are RYA courses and qualifications to help you achieve your ambitions.<\/p>\n

If you\u2019re interested in learning how to sail but have never tried it before, you\u2019ll need to enrol on the Competent Crew course<\/a>. You\u2019ll learn all the skills required of a good crew member and all the jargon too – plus you\u2019ll be able to tie knots and experience all the camaraderie of life on board.
