Sailing School

First Class Sailing is an RYA Recognised Sailing School. Established in London over 10 years ago in 2000 First Class Sailing delivers the full spectrum of RYA yachting courses. Practical on the water courses take place from our base in Shamrock Quay, Southampton. Our shorebased courses are mostly carried out in London.

Since the year 2000 we have taught many Sailing Courses. In London we specialise in going into Companies and teaching RYA Day Skipper or Coastal Skipper/Yachtmaster Shorebased evening courses. A large number of organisations ask us back to teach courses 2,3,4 and sometimes even 5 times a year. For some firms we have run over 40 courses. We are constantly starting courses at new venues as well.

The London side of the Sailing School offers the following RYA courses at various venues throughout the City.

Practical courses take place from the Southampton side of the Sailing School which is based in Shamrock Quay, SO14 5QL. From here, on modern, well maintained and clean yachts we teach the full range of RYA practical courses including:

Being an RYA Recognised Sailing School or Training Centre means we guide students through courses using standard RYA syllabi and RYA qualified instructors. Our boats are checked by the RYA as being seaworthy, safe, well maintained and suitable for the courses. We are inspected regularly to ensure we are maintaining the high standards of the RYA and those of the Maritime and Coastguard Agency (MCA). Taking an RYA course means you are part of a scheme that is known and respected worldwide.
