Experience the Challenge of sailing from Portsmouth to the infamous Fastnet Rock off the South-West tip of Ireland and back again on an around the world 72ft Racing Yacht. As fast as you can! The next Fastnet Challenge is 16th to 25th March 2012.
You will join the yacht in Portsmouth. You will then sail to Brixham as a warm-up and then onto Falmouth before sailing out to the Fastnet Rock and back to Portsmouth, against the clock.
The Training
You will be fully trained by professional crew so although some sailing experience is advisable, it is not necessary. There is a training weekend before the challenge itself.
The Yachts
The 72ft around the world racing yachts were made for this sort of thing! They have already circumnavigated the world twice. They are perfect for giving the ultimate combination of excitement and safety.
When?
There will be a training weekend on Friday 9 March to Sunday 11 March.
The Fastnet Challenge itself will be from Friday 16 March to Sunday 25 March.

The Price is £1,495 and includes:

You will need personal insurance suitable for offshore sailing of this nature. If you do not have insurance of this nature one such company that offers it is Top Sail Insurance. You can find them at this link. As the voyage takes you close to Ireland you should go for Area 2 insurance which covers you for Europe.
